About Me
Growing up in a small town in Southern India, my life revolved around food. Cooking and eating with members of my extended family seemed like a perpetual event. My grandmother was the chef in our household, and I fondly hold many memories of cooking with her. From a very young age, helping around the kitchen was part of my daily routine. I have always been fascinated with the connection that food brings to celebrations, togetherness, health and beyond.
I am a registered dietitian and certified diabetes educator based out of Vancouver, British Columbia. I have worked exclusively in the field of nutrition for more than 20 years now, both in Canada and India. I have a variety of work experience including clinical, community, public health, research, and academia. I am passionate about public health nutrition, health promotion and disease prevention. Currently, beyond my private practice, I teach nutrition at the post-secondary level and work as a casual Public Health Dietitian.
Outside of work, I am passionate about all things that include gardening, cooking, and baking.

Comprehensive
Whether you are looking for support with getting all the nutrients your body needs or struggling to manage a health condition (diabetes, high blood pressure etc.), I believe in a holistic approach.
Evidence-based
In a world filled with food and nutrition ‘noise’ and misinformation, I will provide you with science behind the recommendations that will equip you with making the best decisions to meet your goals.
Individualized
Food and nutrition decisions are never “one size fits all”. I will work with you and your specific circumstances, including lifestyle, family, preferences, culture, traditions etc. to inspire you with simple, practical knowledge and skills.
My Philosophy
“Food is more than just nutrients!”
While food does have a huge role in shaping our wellbeing, we don’t eat food just for nutrients. Are some foods better suited to meet our goals? Absolutely! But that doesn’t mean we have to attach a moral value to food. Simply put, there are no “good” foods or “bad” foods. I believe in “all foods fit” and I will support you to find a balance.
“Food is food is food!
Food is a way to bring people together, build relationships, embrace culture and traditions, build memories and more. I believe that all kinds of food provide nourishment, enjoyment, fulfilment, and satisfaction. I use a non-restrictive approach to build a positive relationship with food. I will support you in a way that you can bring back the joy into eating and drop the guilt.
